A family member I am thankful for

I refuse to choose. I think everyone in the immedate family is in one, or more, of these photos with the exceptions of brother-in-law Doug Kelly, and niece Janie Lynn Brown.

A gift I am thankful for

gift nov 7

The Native American Consulting Committee of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) gave me the stole and tie when I left the Presbyterian Mission Agency. Buddy Monahan made the presentation.

A song I am thankful for

Song

A song I would always name, is “The Weight” as covered by Aretha Franklin. I could not find a photo for that. My thoughts then turned to the songwriters (words and/or music) who I am honored to call friends – Carter Anderson II, Adina Nyree, Shannon Beck, Jorge Gonzalez, David Lamotte, David Gambrell, Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, Bob Brashear. If I missed you, please let me know and I will add your name. For the purpose of this post, I found a photo of Sera Chung.

A taste or food I am thankful for

Food November 4

This one proved a bit of a challenge. I like to eat. I do it well. Too well, my doctor tells me. I have a definite preference for eating food rather than photographing it. I found this one from a Sunday brunch at Community Food and Juice.

A freedom I am thankful for

IMG-8447

If voting makes no difference, why do some people work so hard to see that other people cannot exercise that freedom?

A color I am thankful for

Food

It should come as no surprise that purple is the color. Thanks to the saints of First Presbyterian Church of Whitestone for a purple birthday party.

A memory I am thankful for

Memory Nov 1

I remember running my first (and so far only) timed 5K with the support of my son, Sean and my friend and trainer Nicole Kung. Desi Aldorando was there that day as well; she took the photo. Boxster was the artistic director. Remembering, I commit to running at least one more 5K by this time next year.
